Turkey turns the key that unlocks the mysteries. The codes are prehistoric sites, riotous nature, velvety green mountains, majestic seas, mystical lakes, fairy castles and underground cities, starry skies, and luscious food, This was an unforgettable journey for the five of us, gathered in friendship to deepen our understanding of the mysteries. Turkey is a rich tapestry woven through strands of multilayered wars, crusades, and famines. Turkey will take you where you need to go, whether it be gazing at the splendor of the Blue Mosque dome and reflecting on its feminine nature; to San Sophia Palace to conduct ceremonies while sitting on flower strewn gardens; or to Topkapi Palace, where the precious diamond and emerald collection is contrasted by the suppressed masculinity in the eunuch circumcision rooms.
We allowed Arzu, our guide and a lover of the mysteries, to show us her treasure trove of goodies, including the spell-binding Bosporus Straits, which contrasts with the Cappodicia caves. Here, our ceremonies were held in underground cities wrapped in the collective energies of the earth.
When one student released herself from the group, we learned detachment as the Goreme Valley Fairy Castles came alive. These multidimensional structures spoke to us through the veil of a surreal landscape. The natural world reveals her splendor through Zelve Valley’s sacred lush essence.
Starry night skies—twinkling reminders of powerful energy in the celestial heavens—energize our night meditations as Konyas, museum of Melvana, celebrates the life of this Sufi mystic as I attune a student to Reiki in this sacred atmosphere.
Offerings are given to Artemis (the Goddess who represents freedom and is a spiritual guardian). In her sacred baths of Perge, swimming amongst her salt-encrusted rock formations and Roman ruins renewed us. The patron deity for this tour, Artemis at her Temple in Pamukkale, greeted us and revealed a beautiful sunset for our evening meditation, where the Amphitheater is dedicated to Apollo's and Aphrodite's Love.
Again Artemis called us to Ephesus, revealing her husband on the walls of her temple as we met Isis, her sister, and Aphrodite in her Greek and Roman architectural temples. The Virgin Mary’s chapel—her last home—is also here and we prayed in her chapel and received her precious, blessed holy water.
Turkey will change your life, because you are a witness to all of life. I was blessed to create with Arzu our tour leader, who really understood what I was doing—turning the key and unlocking the mysteries. |
